I.am.here:an app that can read the emotions of ictus patients. - Centro de Ictus

I.am.here is a mobile app that can analyze the brain activity of ictus patients to "speak" the paciente's thinking. This software uses the Brain Computer Interface (BCI) to recognize the original brain signals as emotions, and then displays them on the app in the form of text. The simple emotions currently recognized include "I am interested/I am happy/I am angry" and so on.

According to psfk reports, I.am.here is composed of Russian digital communications agency AdWatch Isobar, Russian Ictus Foundation ORBi and mobile software development team Yarrow! Joint development. Yarrow! Studio CEO Sergey Timoshin said:

"When we discovered that brain waves can be picked up, we immediately thought of ictus patients. After consulting with neurologists and researching brain-computer interface technology, we determined that this is a possible task."

In this bright prospect, the creative director of AdWatch Isobar also talked about their greater "ambitions":

"We believe that this product is only the first step towards great discoveries, and we hope that it can inspire others to join in and help people find their lost things together with us.“

According to data from the World Heart Federation, ictus is the second most common disability disease in the world. 15 million people suffer from ictus each year, and 5 million of them suffer permanent disabilities.

As a mobile product, I.am.here is currently unable to help ictus patients express their thoughts in complex sentences, but this dream is not impossible, and developers are still working hard for it. As the science master Stephen Hawking who "speaks with a músculo" said: "Human efforts should be endless. No matter how bad life looks, there is hope as long as you live."
